How will you be ringing in the New Year? Will you be watching all of the different celebrations around the world? Or will you be curled up with a good book and something cozy to drink? For me, it is all about that good book.

So as we get ready to kick off a brand new year, it's time to hunt down some New Year's romances that will have us ready for love in 2025. Even if we aren't on the hunt for love, we can at least enjoy a bit of humor or spice to end 2024 with.

It can be hard to find New Year's-themed books, so we did the hard work for you. And we think you might just enjoy the touch of reading variety we are bringing to our New Year's romance offerings.

3 New Year's Romances that will kickstart a new year in style

Flakes: A Licking Thicket Prequel by Lucy Lennox

Honestly, this might just be a novella, but this introduction to the Licking Thicket series is a blast. It is a fun, rom-com that is perfect for anyone looking to get into the swing of a new year. Considering the blurb for the story on Amazon starts with, "Colin’s Countdown to a Happy New Year," you already know this is going to be a good one.

Lucy Lennox often writes fun MM romances that leave you smiling and ready to dive into the next book with ease. And her characters are typically hard to forget. This may be one of her shorter reads, but maybe that is what makes it so perfect as a New Year's read.

Knotty New Year by Merri Bright

If you are not a fan of omegaverse romances, then this one would not be for you. However, this was an enjoyable and spicy read with New Year’s playing a big part in the story and romance. However I do have to point out that this story starts around Christmas and ends after the new year. So it does touch on a bit of time. However, that actually does add to the overall enjoyment of the story. Because it’s not Insta love, that being said, it’s. It's that far off if you really think about it.

This story has heat (literally) and spice, with plenty of drama and a meddling family. Honestly, there were moments in this book where I just wanted to shake the main characters. But I think that’s what I loved the most about this story, the fact that I was engaged enough to want to interact with these characters.

Night Before New Year's by Annabelle Winters

This is definitely an instant love book. And yet it really does work. I would absolutely say that this was an over-the-top romance. But at the same time, it was an enjoyable read. I do appreciate the fact that the leading lady of the story is an ER nurse who is stuck working on New Year’s Eve. It adds a little something extra, especially when we find out that her leading man is one of the doctors.

I think the fact that there’s humor in the story and it doesn’t take itself too seriously makes this a must read just in time for a brand new year. And the fact that it’s not terribly long, makes this one worth picking up and checking out.
