Are you a fan of Cozy Mysteries? Do you enjoy those easy-to-read mysteries that have maybe a more fun bit of whimsy to them? How do you feel about holiday-based cozy mysteries?

Recently, I was trying to find Thanksgiving-themed books to read, to get me into the spirit of the season. And I was surprised to realize that it’s not that easy. However, there actually are some cozy mysteries based around Thanksgiving that are quite entertaining. And while some of the cozy mysteries are more fall-themed, there actually are a few that would work for a Thanksgiving day read.

So what are we reading on Thanksgiving day? Which cozy mysteries are going to get us through the turkey, the stuffing, and maybe an argument or two? We have three choices of cozy mystery that might just get you into the Thanksgiving spirit.

3 Cozy Mysteries based around Thanksgiving to read on turkey day

Trapping, Turkeys & Thanksgiving by Tonya Kappes

This cozy mystery is book 28 of 39 from the A Camper & Criminals Cozy Mystery series. This is definitely one that you might want to read as part of the series, however, I will admit that I did not. I read this as a standalone book and I felt fine. I enjoyed what I read. And not only that, but it was definitely, very Thanksgiving-themed. There is a Thanksgiving, a turkey trot, a murder, and turkeys. There is a lot happening in this book and it was quite a ride. Looking for me, I plan to go back to the very beginning and read all of this series just based on this book.

Gobble, Gobble Murder by Leslie Meier

So the fun thing about this book is that it’s actually two books in one. This book contains two previously published cozy Thanksgiving mysteries. And both of them are a lot of fun. Obviously, these are featuring one amateur sleuth, plenty of turkeys, and murder. It’s exactly what we hope for in a cozy mystery, but with a Thanksgiving theme.

Thanksgiving Treachery by Tonya Kappes

Another cozy mystery that is part of a series, this is book 7 of 12 of the Holiday Cozy Mystery series. This is a fun one with plenty of sass and wit, featuring pumpkin pies, a quirky whodunit, and dogs. Honestly, this might have been my favorite of the three books that I read. But, I have to admit that anytime you throw a dog into a cozy mystery, I am in. So the dog is actually what gave this one the edge.
