Book lovers have revealed who they really wanted to see in "It Ends With Us"
No matter what you think of all the behind-the-scenes drama from the set of It Ends With Us, there are a lot of fans of both the original book by Colleen Hoover and the movie itself. That being said even book lovers have their dream castings, and while the movie might be experiencing box office success, that doesn't mean that they might not have chosen different actors for these roles.
Thanks to a survey put out by Casino.ca, we actually have a better idea of exactly who book lovers would have loved to see on the big screen in the roles of Ryle, Atlas, and Lily. And there are some very interesting results in terms of top contenders, as well as who was actually cast.
So while Justin Baldoni was the number one choice for the role of Ryle, is that what the fans wanted? And what about Atlas and Lily? Here's what the survey revealed about the preference of book lovers in terms of dream casting for It Ends With Us.
Who would book lovers have chosen for the It Ends With Us movie?
The top five actors that book lovers chose for the role of Ryle were as follows:
- Justin Baldoni at 27%
- Theo James at 25%
- Jacob Elordi at 21%
- Jensen Ackles at 13%
- Alex Pettyfer at 10%
It was definitely a tight battle for fan casting the role of Ryle. That being said, it is nice to see that the movie got it right with Baldoni. No matter what is happening with the cast right now, it really is about what the book readers want as well.
The top five actors voted on by book lovers for the role of Lily are as follows:
- Blake Lively at 34%
- Emma Stone at 30%
- Lily Colins at 14%
- Abigail Cowen at 10%
- Sadie Sink at 9%
Clearly the readers only really saw two actresses as being the right choice for the role. And their number one choice is obviously who the movie went with.
Finally we have the role of Atlas. This is definitely where the readers and the casting diverged. Here is what book lovers chose for their top actors for the role of Atlas:
- Liam Hemsworth at 30%
- Dylan O'Brien at 18%
- Brandon Sklenar at 17%
- Charlie Hunnam at 13%
- Chace Crawford at 12%
There was definitely a difference in terms of what readers wanted versus the direction the movie chose. Obviously Sklenar was the chosen one for the role of Atlas, but according to the survey, it sounds like book lovers would have preferred a Hemsworth brother instead.
What do you think of the survey results for all three of these roles from It Ends With Us? Are you surprised by the choices made by book lovers?
