It is no secret that Colleen Hoover’s film adaptation of It Ends With Us has done incredibly well in the box office and has tons of readers and casual viewers alike still talking about it. If you are a member of the bookish community, chances are you have either heard about or read more of Colleen’s popular books—there are a lot of them! Since the whisperings of the It Ends With Us movie and the rising fame of the book, there have been many rumors surrounding whether or not more of her books will receive the same treatment. I am here to tell you that Deadline has officially announced an adaptation of Regretting You, another popular book by Colleen.

Regretting You follows Morgan and Clara, a mother-daughter duo with conflicting personalities who constantly butt heads and do not get along. The saving grace in their family is Chris—Clara’s father and the glue holding everything together. When Chris is involved in a tragic accident that has long-term consequences for Morgan and Clara, they grow further apart. While navigating the destruction they were unprepared to face, they find solace in their own ways—which only strengthens the resentment between them. On two opposite sides of life and with two very different goals for themselves, Morgan and Clara may be too far apart to ever find each other again.

In confirmation to some of the rumors surrounding the release of the movie, Deadline also announced the main cast for the film and I think many readers will be very happy with the casting choices—Allison Williams, Mckenna Grave, Dave Franco, and Mason Thames will all join forces to bring this movie adaptation to life.

Anna Todd, a long-time friend of Colleen’s and author of the bestselling After series, also took to Instagram to not only congratulate her friend but also to announce that her production company is taking on the film adaptation of Regretting You, alongside the director of The Fault in Our Stars—which I think will also have readers VERY happy! More information on this release will surely be available over the next year, hopefully including a release date and the rest of the cast.
