There are certain romance series that lend themselves to the screen and one of those is the Off Campus series by Elle Kennedy.

Following a hockey team and their various love interests, each book is set in the fictional Briar University and each romance is just so different. If you've been reading romance for any length of time, you've probably either seen the cover or picked up one of these books.

The Deal was an absolute stunner upon release and the success of the other books in the series which include The Mistake, The Score and The Goal helped to give us a final book: The Legacy. The series has even given us two spinoffs including the Briar U series and the Campus Diaries series.

With swoony heroes, tons of steamy moments, and great storylines, this series was already so much fun to read but it'll be even better on the small screen. This announcement comes after the success of Jenny Han's The Summer I Turned Pretty TV series and the film adaptation of The Idea of You by Robinne Lee.

Amazon's adapting Off Campus proves that romance sells.

While there aren't many details to share about the upcoming release, Deadline did share a detail that fans will be excited about: "The TV adaptation, produced by Amazon MGM Studios, is starting the way the book series does, with the first season based on the first novel, the 2015 The Deal, following the unlikely romance between a wry, hockey-hating music major and Briar University’s playboy star center." I don't know about you, but that has me SO excited to see who they're going to cast and if the series will be just as fun as the books are.

Given that this series from Elle Kennedy is one of her older releases, adapting it now is a huge step for romance books as a whole. Not only does it prove the staying power of a series, but just how much the romance cycle can repeat itself. While that can sometimes be a bad thing, it also shows that Elle Kennedy's books still resonate with readers who were too young when her books were first released. Seeing the resurgence of the series is just so delightful and makes me so excited for what's to come.

The Off Campus series feels like a good one to start with as it's already so popular so if it does well, studios will be more likely to take chances on other series. While a lot of romance books have been picked up, we haven't seen a ton of romance book adaptations recently. Even so, it does feel like a step in the right direction for the romance readers and the romance community in general. If anything, it shows that romance readers will still show up no matter when the series was published.

Bloom Books also recently gave this series a complete makeover and it looks stunning. As someone who has worked with Bloom Books in the past, I give their team kudos for making these books look even prettier than they were before. Overall, Off Campus being adapted into a TV series is incredibly exciting and has me ready to grab my hockey jersey and do a re-read.
