From Dancing with the Stars to an Emmy Award, Julianne Hough is taking on a new challenge and adventure. That is because she can now add published author to her list of accomplishments.

On August 13, Hough was spotted in New York City promoting her debut novel, Everything We Never Knew. And that included chatting with the Today Show and more about the book and even her love life.

So what makes Everything We Never Knew so special? Well, according to the author herself, this is "loosely based on" her own life and experiences. But really it was all part of a transformational journey for her following 2020 and all the things that changed in her own life.

Julianne Hough is now a published author thanks to her debut novel, Everything We Never Knew, cowritten with Ellen Goodlett

Obviously, we love to see authors promoting their work. And of course, thanks to Julianne Hough's fame, she is definitely able to bring her work to a much larger audience than the every-day author. So seeing Hough opening up about this project and showing off her book while in NYC is definitely something we appreciate.

According to the Amazon Blurb for the book, readers will get to read about one woman's journey to finding her own power and embracing it! That being said, this novel also has a touch of the supernatural to it that adds another layer of intrigue to the story. It definitely sounds like one of those books that you have to truly dive into with an open mind. And there is nothing wrong with that.

"On stage at an awards banquet is the last place Lexi Cole expected to drown. But as she accepts the award for top-seller at her realty firm, something unusual catches Lexi's eye: a man surrounded by a dark haze. Then she hears a woman screaming for help, and the taste of saltwater overwhelms her. Just as Lexi's throat begins to close, the man leaves the room and the sensation of drowning abruptly stops. Later that night, the man dies of an overdose, and Lexi learns about the traumatic boating accident that killed his sons and tore his family apart.

Lexi wants to believe it's a bizarre coincidence. Any other explanation would disrupt the normal, comfortable life she's worked so hard to build. Lexi is an expert at denial, a pro at fitting in. But as more strange events unfold, Lexi can't deny the truth: something is changing inside her. She feels other people's emotions, sometimes even glimpses their private memories.

By embracing her new abilities, Lexi can help heal people―though not until she confronts the past she's spent a lifetime burying. But when a vision reveals her husband is in danger, Lexi must decide: face her inner demons or lose the person she loves most."

Honestly, this sounds like an intriguing read and it is one we are definitely adding to our TBR list. From the women's lit feel of this story to the more paranormal aspect of it all, this will definitely be a rather unique read.
