The Elemental Paladins Compendium by Montana Ash takes us beyond the main story with two short stories and more
Are you looking for a fantasy romance series with plenty of humor, charm, and magic? Then you’ve come to the right place! And if you are a fan of Montana Ash, and her work then this book is already for you. Plus, if you have no idea who the author is, then we have a treat for you.
In her first venture into the world of romance and in particular fantasy romance, Montana Ash introduced us to The Elemental Paladins. Magical heroes with powers that help to balance the world, keep it in order, and basically save the day. In this world, a paladin is a “knight born to protect the guardians of nature.” And the guardians are the balance. But what if you didn’t know you were a guardian? Or what if you were once a paladin and you found yourself as the villain? This is a world where nothing is quite as it seems and magic is everywhere.
While the first seven books in The Elemental Paladins book series follows the main group of characters and their love stories, as well as the threat to the world that they have to overcome, the story doesn’t end there. This is, in part, where The Elemental Paladins Compendium comes into the picture.
The Elemental Paladins Compendium is the perfect way to get even more of the characters that we love, without a heavy investment. That is because there are two short stories in the compendium, as well as biographies of our characters, and even a very fun interview between our characters and our author. As an added bonus, it’s not just the main series that get some love as the spinoff series, The Elemental Collective, characters are also included.
The Elemental Paladins Compendium is more than just short stories, it’s an in-depth look at the magic
The magic doesn’t stop there, as Montana Ash has also included artwork in The Elemental Paladins Compendium. The artwork depicts “the characters, their homes, their tattoos, and more!” It’s a chance to pull back the curtain on how the author herself envisioned these characters and their lives.
The Compendium also features similar cover art to the redesigned covers from the main series, which got a new look in 2024. And it is available in both ebook and print formats, giving fans multiple options for how you can add this book to your shelf.
As a fan of the main series, I highly recommend reading the first seven books before diving into the compendium, however, if you want to get a taste of what you can expect from the main series and it’s spinoff, this could be a great opportunity to get a feel for Montana Ash’s writing style. Honestly, if you like fun, quirky, fantasy romances that have some depth and heat to them, then you may just fall in love with Montana and her work.
