On January 23, we have our first Stuff Your Kindle Day event of 2025. And for this day of reading happiness, it is all about the cozy mysteries.
Hosted by the Cozy Mystery Book Club, this event features a variety of cozy mystery books that you can snag for free. And, in some cases, it is not just books for Kindle. While not every book will be available across different platforms, we definitely recommend taking a look at the complete list if you are looking for freebies that are not on Kindle.
Luckily, if you are looking for freebies on other platforms, the Cozy Mystery Book Club has the different categories of mystery broken down for you by the Kindle option, as well as the other platforms option. And what are the different cozy mystery categories you can choose from? We have Contemporary Cozies, Historical Cozies, and Paranormal Cozies.
Considering how many books are usually available on Stuff Your Kindle Day, we wanted to give a few recommendations of books to check out. And while things could change by the time Stuff Your Kindle Day kicks off, these are some of the books we have seen that are set to be part of this freebie event that we think you may love.
Our recommendations for Cozy Mysteries to snag on Stuff Your Kindle Day
If you are looking for some Contemporary Cozy Mysteries to stuff your Kindle with, these are some of our suggestions:
- Risky Whiskey (Bohemia Bartenders Mysteries, Book 1) by Lucy Lakestone - This was a fun read and definitely a series worth checking out.
- Limoncello Yellow by Traci Andrighetti - This one is set around Mardi Gras, which is why I love this one so much.
- Death by Dark Roast (The Charleton House Mysteries) by Kate P Adams - I picked this one up because it has a cat on the cover and the fact that it is set in the English country side that kept me reading.
- Fake Death (A Dotty Sayers Antique Mystery) by Victoria Tait - They had me at antiques with this one.
- Love Lies and Pumpkin Spice (A Slice of Life Cozy Mystery) by Rachel Beattie - I love a good culinary mystery and that is exactly what this one is.
- The Missing Manuscript Murder (A Grace Thompson Mystery, Book 1) by Ginger Ellington - This is one of the doggy cozy mysteries and it has a great overall story.
- The Body and Mr. Chicken (Matinee Classics Cozy Mysteries) by Della Pearl - This cozy mystery is set around Halloween time, which is what drew me in (as well as the dog on the cover).
While I don't read as many Historical Cozy Mysteries, there are definitely a few on the list for the Stuff Your Kindle Day event that are worth checking out.
- A Thief in Stickleback Hollow by C. S. Woolley - This is set in the English countryside and features a female detective. It really was quite entertaining.
- Death in Soho (Augusta Peel 1920s Mysteries) by Emily Organ - This book is set in London with an amateur detective. I love that our leading lady repairs books in the 1920s because it made me love her even more.
- Paul Madison P.I. by Sharon Michaels - This book features a former cop turned private investigator. It's the first book in a series and features a bunch of things we love in cozy mysteries, including animals.
Finally, we have the Paranormal Cozy Mysteries. We love a good paranormal story and these cozy mysteries definitely give us all the vibes we love.
- Lattes and Spirits (Mystic Brews, Book 1) by Alyn Troy - I love the cat in this book and you will too!
- Books & Bribes (A Bookstore Cozy Mystery) by Lucinda Race - The fact that this book features a talking cat had me hooked.
- Silver Spells (Midlife Elementals) by Kate Moseman - This book was great because it not only featured witches, but also some romance.
- Howl Play (The Spellwood Witches Paranormal Cozy Mystery Series) by Melanie Snow - With witches, shapeshifters, and a dog, this book was a fun read that gave all the paranormal vibes you could ask for.
- First Time’s a Yarn (The Happy Hookers Cozy Crochet Mystery series) by Becky Klauer - This is a cozy mystery with all the things including a cat and crochet! This was highly entertaining, and we love the series.
- Pit Perfect Murder by Renee George - This book features a dog rescue, a small town and of course an amateur detective. The fact that our leading lady is a shapeshifter just makes it even more fun to read.
Honestly, there are so many books to choose from during the Cozy Mystery Stuff Your Kindle Day event. And if we can help point you to even a few new stories, then we are happy. So with this event kicking off on January 23 it is time to get stuffing!
