3 Books that allow you to bring Spooky Season into Christmastime
Happy Halloween book lovers!
As tonight makes the official end of Spooky Season, I know plenty of people wish to take the bats and cobwebs with them. However, a recent trend I have noticed is how many people have combined the two holidays into three months straight of celebrating. As a result, I have put together a list of books that combine the best of Halloween with the best of Christmas - which will allow you to carry the spooky spirit into the next holiday season.
1. The Nightmare Before Kissmas by Sara Raasch
Hex Hallow, the Halloween Prince from The Nightmare Before Kissmas, brings a little bit of spooky wherever he goes. And that includes the Kingdom of Christmas! He has jack-o-lanterns wearing Santa hats. He has a tree decorated with orange and purple lights and bats. He is a Spooky Icon - and the fact he falls in love with a Prince of Christmas only makes it better! The two of them vow to have Halloween and Christmas together, making him the perfect pairing to show how to mix the holidays for double the fun.
The Nightmare Before Kissmas is available through Macmillan Publishers
2. Sally's Lament by Mari Mancusi
Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas has been a fan-favorite character since the movie came out. And it is finally time for her to step into the moonlight as the star of her own story. Sally's Lament reimagines the world of Halloween Town with Sally being the one to find the mysterious forest between worlds and make the Christmas Town discovery. With a more in-depth look at her relationship with Jack, and unexpected twists and turns, this is the perfect book for anyone who wants to see Christmas through Sally's eyes for the very first time.
Sally's Lament is available through Disney Books
3. The Wedding Witch by Erin Sterling
The Wedding Witch is almost unanimously stated to be the best book in the Graves Glen series. Not only is there the magical romance the trilogy is known for, but this one takes it a step further and has them time-travel to a past Yuletide celebration. The mixing of the signature spookiness and the winter celebrations of the past make for a fun mixture of the two holidays, with a reminder that both Halloween and Christmas are perfect for finding love.
The Wedding Witch is available through HarperCollins Publishers
