St. Patrick’s Day has arrived, and if you are anything like us, you enjoy a few holiday reads. And if there is one genre of book that loves a good holiday, it would be cozy mysteries.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, there are quite a few cozy mysteries set around St. Patrick’s Day. And we wanted to find some of our favorites for a fun holiday of reading or even rereading because we aren’t going out for the holiday this year. Instead, we’re staying in.

So what are we reading? Here are five cozy mysteries perfect for St. Patrick’s Day, that will keep you guessing.

5 St. Patrick's Day themed Cozy mysteries to read this year

Murder on Saint Patrick's Day (A Ridgeway Rescue Mystery Book 3) by P. Creeden

Honestly, I know this is book three, but I feel like you can still pick this one up and enjoy it on its own. It's also a quick read, so you could easily get this one read on St. Patrick's Day without an issue. I personally love that it features dogs, and specifically training a puppy to be a therapy dog. Not only that, but the way our leading lady ends up at the scene of a crime (or is it) is perfect. (And this series might be familiar if you have read any of our previous holiday guides.)

A Catered St. Patrick's Day (A Mystery With Recipes Book 8) by Isis Crawford

I love cozy mysteries with recipes and that's literally what this series delivers. One review said that readers will "appreciate the zany characters" and I have to agree. I really enjoy the characters and the overall vibe of this book, in part because good cozy mysteries are often set in small towns and villages like this one. I really appreciate just how integral St. Patrick's Day is to the story as well.

St. Patrick's Day Murder (A Lucy Stone Mystery Series Book 14) by Leslie Meier

I know this is the 14th book in the series, but I actually picked this one up to read recently without reading the rest of the series and really enjoyed it. In fact, I plan to go back and read the first books in the series just because of this one. I love that this one is set in Maine and that it leans into its setting. Also, I have to say that I didn't guess "who done it" right away, which is always a big win with a cozy mystery.

Irish Soda Bread Murder by Carlene O'Connor, Peggy Ehrhart, Liz Ireland

How can you go wrong with three books in one? I don't think you can. I love that this book features three cozy mysteries in one and all three feature recipes. From a Mrs. Claus at St. Patrick's Day to a soda bread baking competition, each of these mysteries is perfectly cozy and engaging. I loved all of the characters, across all three stories.

St. Patrick's Day Puzzle: A Cozy Mystery with a Twist by Sharon Michaels

This is another quick and easy read that is definitely entertaining. It is also one of those stories that will keep you engaged, especially since it actually includes questions with each chapter. Can you solve the mystery alongside our detective? This was definitely not the usual cozy mystery for me and that is what made it fun.
