November went by in a flash. I am absolutely certain it started just a couple of days ago, and here we are at the end of the month. Luckily, with December around the corner, it means we have new books to be excited for! Here are the new releases I am most excited for, and they're all perfect gifts for the winter holidays if anyone needs any gift ideas.

1. Murder in Season by Mary Winters

While the Bridgerton series might be most people's first thoughts when it comes to Regency Era literature, my favorite thing about the series' success is it helped me find Mary Winters' adorable series about a Regency advice columnist who also solves murders. It's the ultimate cozy mystery series, and I am so excited for the third book as it takes place against the unforgiving climate of the marriage season. There will be balls, there will be outings, there will be scandal - and most importantly, there will be murder. And I truly can't wait, especially since the book comes out the day before my birthday so it'll be my present to myself!

Murder in Season is available for preorder through Severn House and will be released on December 3rd

2. Wind and Truth by Brandon Sanderson

Fans of The Stormlight Archive, the fifth book is finally almost here! Wind and Truth has been long awaited, and with its page count of 1344 pages, it is sure to be an amazing adventure! As it finishes out the first arc of the series, I know fantasy lovers are in for an amazing December - and I am glad it comes out early in the month because this book is clearly made for everyone's holiday break from work!

Wind and Truth is available for preorder through Macmillan Publishers and will be released on December 6th.

3. My Time to Stand by Gypsy-Rose Blanchard

Love her or hate her, Gypsy-Rose Blanchard is a fascinating pop culture figure. And as a result, I am excited to read her memoir and get insights into her telling her own story. I've noticed that as terrible as her situation was growing up, she's never truly had the chance to speak out on her own. So I am excited for her to say everything in her own words, and clear up any misconceptions people have about her life.

My Time to Stand is available for preorder through BenBella Books and will be released on December 10th

4. You're Dead to Me by Amy Christine Parker

I'm not a big horror fan, but the premise of this book has me excited for it anyway. A teenager who is her town's Gossip Girl is confronted by a ghost of herself in a blood-splattered prom dress - and it turns out someone wants to kill her. Ruby has a countdown to her murder, as prom is only a week away, and she has to figure out how to stop her death, only for even more secrets and scandals to keep popping up the more she investigates. It's such a fun premise I am looking forward to it - and am hoping it's not too scary for me to enjoy.

You're Dead to Me is available for preorder through Penguin Random House and will be released on December 10th

5. Heavenly Tyrant by Xiran Jay Zhao

Of all the books on this list, I think Heavenly Tyrant is the one I am most excited about. The cliffhanger for Iron Widow was intense, and I have been anxiously waiting to see how it is resolved since I read the book last March. I'm also really excited to see how Zetian's story continues, especially as she started a revolution - but the question is does she have what it takes to lead the country through it? As this book comes out on Christmas Eve I am fully anticipating reading it between opening presents and eating our turkey dinner throughout the day.
