When you think of cozy romances, what comes to mine? Does a why choose with spice fit the bill? Probably not. However thanks to a new series that we stumbled upon back in November, the Cozyverse, we are getting the perfect blend of cozy and spicy.
And we were really excited to see that the second book in the series, A Pack for Winter by Eliana Lee, had been released just in time for Christmas. The beauty of this book in the series is that it’s set not only from Christmas into wintertime, but the leading lady’s last name is Winter.
In terms of those cozy vibes this book definitely delivers. Yes, it is spicy romance, but there is that cozy vibe we were looking for as well. We have the small town where everybody really knows you, we have a leading lady who is a bit traumatized from her past relationship, but who really is all about the snuggles and hugs and love. And not only that but we have three leading men who are desperate to give their lady what she needs.
When it comes to the spice, this book absolutely has it. This is not just a why choose romance, but it is also one that gives us two men in love, friendships, and, my favorite part, the know-it-all cat. The town cat is definitely a major player in this entire series, but in this book, especially.
A Pack for Winter is the perfect winter romance with spice and drama
I definitely found A Pack for Winter to be a great read. It was perfect as a seasonal read and one for the holiday season. With it touching on both Christmas and New Year’s, as well as Valentine’s Day, there is plenty of holiday magic in this story. And the fact that they incorporated all three of the winter holidays, just felt right for this story.
The humor and banter was an added bonus that had us giggling at times, and the drama kept us coming back for more. And yes, the spice just worked.
Honestly, I almost wish the book was longer. It was so fun to read, and I really loved all four of the main characters. I think there could’ve been a bit more development in the relationships between the men and Ivy, but at the same time, the fact that these were established relationships in terms of people knowing each other made a difference in reading enjoyment. For me, this was such a fun read that I am ready to sit down and dive into whatever spring has in store for us.
