December is here and with that comes the need to read holiday romances. Maybe that's just me, but there is something about cuddling up with a Christmas romance when the weather starts getting cold.
That's where Meghan Quinn comes in as she released her Christmas title for this year in October which is How My Neighbor Stole Christmas. I'd like to thank Bloom Books for sending me a copy so I was able to read and review it.
While it took a month or so, How My Neighbor Stole Christmas ended up being that surge of holiday spirit I needed. It might not have caused me to put up my Christmas tree just yet but it made putting on Sabrina Carpenter's Fruitcake EP so I call that a win.
With December now here, it's the best time to get in bed, grab your copy of How My Neighbor Stole Christmas, and get in the holiday spirit as this one is an utter delight from start to finish.
How My Neighbor Stole Christmas is a holiday romp you'll adore.
How My Neighbor Stole Christmas follows Storee Taylor who is tasked with taking care of her aunt during the holiday season. The only issue is that Storee is a Christmas movie editor for a famous brand but she's currently taking a break to help her sister take care of their aunt. Of course, her plans are quickly thrown to the wayside.
Storee's Aunt Cindy wants her to enter the town's Christmas Kringle contest in her absence. While Storee is reluctant at first, she ends up doing it and soon the entire town knows including Cole Black who makes her failiure his mission. Cole ends up entering the contest despite being an absolute grump or should I say, grinch?
If you're sensing a theme here, you're right. How My Neighbor Stole Christmas is loosely based on How The Grinch Stole Christmas as Cole has a best friend named Max. Additionally, they're all forced to be cheerful which is something Cole struggles with. Similar to the Grinch, we find out why exactly Cole acts the way he does around Christmas which is heartbreaking to learn.
Even so, How My Neighbor Stole Christmas is such a fun romance full of holiday spirit. Kringletown lives up to its name as the contest is all Christmas-themed. Whether it's decorating their houses, making candy canes, or creating a Christmas upcycle production, it's a lot of Christmas yet with a twist only Meghan Quinn can pull off.
Whether you're wanting something sweet or spicy, this romance has you covered. There is some steam yet there are plenty of adorable and emotional moments as well. While the book was a tad bit long for my preference, I did read it in two sittings so I call that a win. No matter what you're craving this holiday season, How My Neighbor Stole Christmas is sure to get you in the holiday spirit in some way.
How My Neighbor Stole Christmas by Meghan Quinn is out now where books are sold.
