Ali Hazelwood fans, you've been given another gift! The author had hinted the cover for Mate was already done, and it seems she was excited to share it.
After all, we thought the big news for this week would be the title and synopsis reveal for Mate, the sequel to her bestselling hit Bride. However, we didn't know that another big reveal was coming: Mate's cover! So imagine my surprise when I looked at Instagram and saw it in its beautiful green glory.
Overall, I think I like this cover more than Bride's. The updated wolf design feels less cheesy and brings the supernatural vibes that the first book was known for. Not to mention, the green, gray, and black color scheme really draws me in. If I hadn't known I wasn't an Ali Hazelwood fan, I would have definitely bought the book just by the cover alone. The colors also really remind me of the Pacific Northwest, and I think it gives the vibes of what the setting will be more than Bride did. I also feel like the clear direction out of the city is a wise decision for this story, as it will expand on the incredibly interesting world that Hazelwood created.
With Mate already available for preorder, the countdown is on for the book to come out. And that October release date is going to make it a perfect supernatural read for Halloween romance lovers everywhere.
Mate is available for preorder through Penguin Random House and will release on October 7th, 2025
