With Disney bringing World Princess Week back to its parks, I am actually pretty sad I have to miss it. Disney Princesses inspired my childhood with imagination, creativity, and helped me develop an inner strength I have relied on my entire life. I feel it's important to celebrate these things, so while I have no way of getting to any of the parks, I chose some Disney books I feel celebrate everything we love about our favorite Princesses.

1. Reflection by Elizabeth Lim

The Twisted Tales series is one I will never stop recommending, it's so much fun to see our favorite characters conquer something new. And Reflection is no exception! This book wonders what would happen if Mulan had to travel to the Underworld to save Li Shang. It's a fascinating look into the mythology of China while focusing on Mulan's strength and fear of what would happen if she let her personal of "Ping" fall away.

2. Tangled Up In You by Christina Lauren

Christina Lauren has quickly become one of my all-time favorite romance authors - with fun characters, unique plots, and interesting ways to look at love. And Tangled Up In You is no exception! A modern retelling of Tangled, this book takes place at the fictional Corona College - where Ren was raised off the grid, and Fitz is trying to con everyone into thinking he doesn't have a criminal record. Sparks fly as we get the same wit and humor from the movie but in a completely new college romance way.

3. Promchanted by Morgan Matson

Prom is supposed to be a magical experience for the average high schooler. However, Promchanted has a bit more magic than Stella and Reece bargained for when they accidentally end up in the world of Sleeping Beauty! After messing up the story, the two enemies have to set the story right before it turns into a disaster - and maybe also fall in love at the same time!

4. Pure of Heart by Delilah Dawson

Snow White as you've never seen her before, this book brings the video game world of the Mirrorverse to life! Her world has been corrupted by magic, leaving everyone corrupted. She must team up with a host of Disney characters to save her world, and together they discover that not only are their worlds important, but their stories are worth saving. It is a fun way to look at how many characters who never would have gotten a chance to interact could become a group and is an excellent reminder that everyone has strengths when working as a team.

5. The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton

RALPH BREAKS THE INTERNET
SELFIE! – In “Ralph Breaks the Internet,” Vanellope von Schweetz hits the internet where she encounters and then befriends the Disney princesses. Filmmakers invited the original voice talent to return to the studio to help bring their characters to life, including Sarah Silverman (Vanellope in “Ralph Breaks the Internet”), Auli‘i Cravalho (“Moana”), Kristen Bell (Anna in “Frozen”), Idina Menzel (Elsa in “Frozen”), Kelly MacDonald (Merida in “Brave”), Mandy Moore (Rapunzel in “Tangled”), Anika /

A dystopian and magical look into the concept of beauty, this is the only book that doesn't include the classic Disney characters we know and love. However, its story and worldbuilding make this worth reading. It's dark without being overbearing and creates a world loved by teens and adults alike. When beauty is controlled by society, it makes for a fascinating read that dares to ask the question: what happens when beauty is tightly controlled?
