I think one of the hardest things about being an adult is finding time to do what you love. There are always chores to do, meals to cook, and jobs to make sure you can get the money to survive. So in those extra busy weeks, which always seem to pop up in the fall, I have three books that take about two hours to read - making them a lot easier to slide into a packed schedule.

1. The Dallergut Dream Department Store by Miye Lee

I became so obsessed with this book that it became my entire personality for about two months. It's such a sweet read about the importance of dreams. Each vignette highlights a different dreamer and the purpose of their chosen dreams. Whether it is a recurring dream as a sign you're truly over your ex or an elderly dog having their favorite dream of running and playing with their owner - this book shows off how dreams are an essential part of life.

2. Waking Daylight by Olivia Vaughn

Looking for a cute romance that can easily be read in one sitting? Then Waking Daylight is for you! This book not only has two thirty-somethings falling in love, but it also covers the genuine fears of starting over and discovering yourself later in life. There are plenty of characters to love while giving multiple romance tropes readers will adore - all in a bite-sized package that's easy to find time to read.

3. The Witching Hour by Ashley Skolrud

I am going to be real: I feel weird putting my book on this website. Which is silly, because it does fit this category so well! A collection of fairy tale retellings, this book flips the script on traditional stories and lets you see them through the villains' eyes. It's easy to read in an afternoon, and I've been told by multiple people it's a tearjerker - so it's best to read with a box of tissues next to you.
