V.E. Schwab Signs Exciting Two Book Deal
Fans of The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue and the Shades of Magic series get excited! It was announced this morning that not only has she inked a well-deserved two-book deal, but her next book comes out June 10, 2025!

Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil already sounded like it would be a fascinating portrait of three different women from Schwab's X announcement, but a further plot synopsis was given to the Associated Press:
"Schwab’s novel will span from 16th century Santo Domingo to 21st century Boston as it tracks the entangled stories of three women whose bodies are “planted in the same soil.”"

I am intrigued by what it means to be "planted in the same soil," especially as it's set in three distinct settings. I also have always been a fan of a plant analogy of a woman's growth and can't wait to see all three characters grow together - both in character development and story. I am also interested in seeing how the settings play together. I have always enjoyed parallel stories, especially when they are interconnected. I hope it's structured similarly to Vicious where we never quite have the full story until the very end.
With her signature look into both the light and darkness of humanity and a touch of fantasy, I am sure that this book will be a memorable and thought-provoking addition to your library.
