For as long as I can remember I have been obsessed with dinosaurs. When I was in second grade, my teacher told us she had a dinosaur in her backyard and I remember trying too hard to figure out how I could get one for myself. One year for my birthday, I had a paleontologist theme - where we went and hunted for fossils in my backyard, and had dinosaur-themed party decorations and snacks. So it is not a surprise that as an adult, I fell in love with Jurassic Park. To this day, I have a fascination with dinosaurs, and it has extended to my reading, so I put together a list of books for dinosaur lovers.

1. Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton

I know I couldn't write this list without putting Jurassic Park right at the top. The books that inspired the movies offer a fascinating look into the science of bringing back dinosaurs. While very different from the movies, this book will have you thinking primarily about the ethics of bringing back the dinosaurs—and how terrible it would be for us if we did. Overall, this book is perfect for any dinosaur lover, with fast pacing and an interesting story you won't be able to put down.

2. Dinosaurs at the Dinner Party by Edward Dolnick

Even though this book is written like an adventure novel, Dinosaurs at the Dinner Party is a look into the Victorians who started the modern dinosaur obsession. Facts are included in a fun and memorable way, that allows for people to learn about these amazing creatures while also learning about the history of modern paleontology. It's a fascinating mix that will have you thinking about our place in the world, while learning about facts in a fun and engaging way.

3. The Paleontologist by Luke Dumas

A psychological thriller that will also teach you all about dinosaurs? It is clearly the best of both worlds with a novel that's perfect for spooky dinosaur lovers. This titular paleontologist is being haunted by something in the museum he works for - and it seems like it is a dinosaur. In an emotional twist, this museum also is the site of his sister's kidnapping which makes you wonder whether or not he is actually just losing his grip on reality. It blends facts and fiction seamlessly and will keep you gripped to the edge of your seat.
