Another week full of reading has passed, which means it's time to examine the reading trends of the week. Overall, there was one big thing I noticed, before getting into the list: the Christmas reading season is officially over. None of the big Christmas reads of the year made the list, with the exception of the Harry Potter books, which I don't consider Christmas reads, despite the books talking about the holiday. Overall, there wasn't a huge change this week, but it is still fascinating to see this week's top ten reads according to the Amazon Charts.
- Wind and Truth by Brandon Sanderson
- Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros
- Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros
- Quicksilver by Callie Hart
- Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling
- The Boyfriend by Freida McFadden
- The Women by Kristin Hannah
- Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling
- The Housemaid by Freida McFadden
- Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling
Overall, this list is very similar to last week's - but there's been some movement. Freida McFadden now has two books on the list, an improvement with The Housemaid moving up onto the list. This doesn't surprise me one bit, as everywhere I have looked her books have shown time and time again to be popular. And while I have yet to read any of them, I'm starting to wonder if I should the next time I am looking for a thriller. Quicksilver by Callie Hart also moved up from where it was last week - and honestly, every time I log onto Booktok people are either rereading Fourth Wing and Iron Flame or they're reading Quicksilver. It's fascinating to see how those trends I've been seeing on social media play out on the Amazon charts.
In addition, my prediction is Wind and Truth will keep the top spot for another week, but when Onyx Storm releases it will immediately knock it out of the top spot. With the hype for Onyx Storm, I have a feeling Brandon Sanderson will be knocked out quickly. Also, with Wind and Truth being a monster of a book, I've noticed quite a few people are starting to finish reading it. I predict it is going to drop from the list quickly, now that so many people are starting to finish it.
I'm excited to see if my reading predictions end up happening, as the ones I made last week all ended up happening. In addition, I think it's longevity on the charts has convinced me to add Quicksilver to my TBR - even though I have no idea when I am going to have time to read it.
